With muni bonds yielding roughly the same as Treasuries, investors in high tax brackets could be snapping these up for tax-equivalent yields of 6-7%. Many of the closed-end muni bond funds trade at 10-15% discounts to their NAV, giving a nice cushion to the downside and some potential upside capital gains. I like using ETFConnect to sift through the CEF universe.
